Time to Say Thank You
Avoid the pandemic panic and leverage this time to steward donors.
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects, nonprofits worldwide are facing a new reality that is evolving by the hour. Without hesitation, my advice to each of the organizations I work with is to leverage this time to steward and thank existing donors and supporters. This strategy not only works to preserve and strengthen a donor pipeline for when things improve, but also is donor-centered. With the dismal news hitting our media channels constantly, it is refreshing and gratifying for donors to see that their past and/or current support of important missions makes a difference (and how), that are appreciated and acknowledged, and that they can help the recipient organization be stronger and more resilient during this crisis.
